There are two requirements that you have to fulfill before you download the certificate. The first one is very obvious that you should have a home loan account with the State Bank of India. And the second thing is you should have registered for internet banking.
So if you have registered already then you can directly start with the steps explained below. But in case if you have not registered. Then you will not be able to download the certificate until you register or activate the internet banking service.
You can activate it by visiting the official website of the bank and click on the “New User” option. Before you begin with the process of activation or registration. Make sure that you keep your account details ready with you.
Steps to Download SBI Home Loan Interest Certificate

The interest certificate for your SBI Home Loan can be easily downloaded within 5 minutes of time online. This can be done with the help of the SBI Online i.e. internet banking portal of the bank.
- Open the official website of the State Bank of India.
The first thing is to visit the official website of SBI. Here you have to use the internet banking portal. So I recommend you to use your desktop or laptop computer. Also, make sure that you have anti-virus software and a stable internet connection.
- Click on the Login Button.
Click on the “Login” button which can be found in the personal banking section of the homepage of SBI Online.
- Enter your Username and Password.
After you click on the “Login” button a new webpage will be opened where have to enter your username and password. There is an image captcha that has to be solved by you. This captcha is used to make sure that a real human is trying to log in and not automated software. At last click on the “Login” button given below the captcha box.
- Enter the OTP and Click on the Submit Button.
The bank will send you an OTP to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP correctly and click on the “Submit” button. If you did not receive the OTP then you can use the “Resend” button given on the 2FA authentication page.
- Click on the e-Services button.
Once you have successfully login into your internet banking account. Click on the “e-Services” button that can be found in the top menu of the internet banking portal.
- Click on the My Certificates option.
A new webpage with all the e-Services will be opened in front of you. Now you have to select “Home Loan Interest Certificate” from the webpage.
- Select Home Loan Interest Certificate.
There are various types of certificates related to the bank account that can be downloaded online. Here you have to select “Home Loan Interest Certificate”.
- Select your Home Loan Account Number.
All the home loan accounts that you have will be listed. Now select the account number of the home loan whose interest certificate you want to download. You will get an error dialogue if you don’t have any home loan accounts linked.
- Click on View/Download in PDF.
When you select your home loan account number, your interest certificate will be loaded on the screen. Now click on the “View/Download in PDF” link to save the interest certificate on your computer.
Here you have to make sure of two things. The first thing is to make sure that don’t use your smartphone to download the interest certificate. And the second thing is you can download the certificate only from the official website of SBI.
